EOE/VEVRAA Overview:
The Service Desk Specialist is customer service oriented that provides technical support to end users in an efficient and accurate manner.
They are considered the first level contact and have the ability to solve basic technical problems and provide support.
They gather and analyze information about the user's issue and determine the best way to resolve their problem.
Escalating unresolved queries to the next level of support as needed.
The Service Desk Specialist goal is to make sure that customer value is maintained to the standards set forth by the company.
Responsibilities:
Provide first level contact and convey resolutions to end user issues by troubleshooting and managing relatively simple hardware, software or network problems including but not limited to password resets, printer configuration, break/fix instructions, ticket routing.
Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
Track, route and redirect problems to correct resources.
Update customer data and produce activity reports within the ticketing system.
Walk customers through problem solving process.
Follow up with customers, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution.
Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations.
Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure.
Recommended procedure modifications or improvements.
Other duties outlined by Information and Technology Management.
Maintains regular attendance.
Ability to work mandatory over time.
Performs other duties as requested.
Responsible for producing a high quality product.
Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.
Qualifications:
Requiring an associate's degree or completion of coursework at a technical school and/or proven working experience in providing service desk support.
Customer Service Orientated.
Advanced multi-tasking skills.
Requires excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess patience, a customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
Have a basic technical understanding of technology, including the various hardware, software and networking systems being supported.
Required to have the ability to work remotely.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
